Nonrefundable deposit for a whole steer.
When you purchase a whole steer, you’re getting a full share of premium, 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef — custom cut, vacuum-sealed, and frozen for your freezer. Every steer is unique, but you can expect roughly 400–440 lb of packaged beef once it’s cut, trimmed, and wrapped. Here’s a typical breakdown:
Steaks — 60–75 lb total
Ribeye: 18–24 lb (≈ 10–14 steaks)
New York Strip: 18–24 lb (≈ 10–14 steaks)
Filet Mignon / Tenderloin: 6–10 lb (≈ 8–12 steaks)
Other premium steaks (flank, skirt, hanger, flat iron, chuck-eye, Denver, etc.): 10–15 lb
Roasts — 90–110 lb total
Chuck, sirloin tip, rump, arm, London broil, brisket, etc.
(Some of these can be cut as steaks if preferred.)
Short Ribs & Brisket Ends — 25–35 lb
Ground Beef — 150–180 lb
100% grass-fed, typically in 1–2 lb packages.
Stew Meat — 10–15 lb
Bones & Fat — 40–60 lb
Organs (optional) — 10–20 lb
Weights and cuts vary slightly between animals and how you choose to have your beef cut (more steaks vs. more roasts, bone-in vs. boneless, etc.). Every steer is unique — that’s part of what makes buying direct from the farm special.
Pickup will be at the farm. We will contact you with directions and meet you there to help you load the meat.
The remaining balance is due at pickup.
A whole beef share is priced at $9.50 per lb (hanging weight).
